Kindergarten
In 2020 - 2021 we have 3 kindergarten groups with Romanian teaching language. The groups have a reduced number of children, so that educators can devote enough time to developing educational relationships with each of the children.
In the K-groups we learn in thematic weeks or days, in an emerging curriculum inspired by children, educators or nature. Each week comes with a theme that children explore in various workshops and activities after they have gone through morning activities (each team has its own routine that can mean: yoga, mindfulness, nature calendar, songs, music, dances, greeting customs). The program start at 8.00, and at the begging we play and eat together (if we did not eat breakfast at home). At 09.00 we start the team's activities, and at 9.50 we equip ourselves for the garden. At 10.30 we serve a snack, and then we go to what workshops we want, of those proposed by the educators. If one or more children do not want to participate in any of these workshops, it is ok to do so. They can create their own activities in which to involve 100% and educators can help them making them more interesting. At 12.00 we serve lunch (we usually eat out - no matter the season), we brush our teeth, and then we join a second activity (some of us go to sleep or home). In Green School we do not have "hours" and "breaks," "rewards," or "punishments," or "must," or "you are not allowed to." At Green School we take care of ourselves, our colleagues, of nature and home. We learn to communicate non-violently with patience; we learn to know ourselves and so let others know us. Green School is ours, your family's and our town's. We can provide feed-back, offer ideas, help it grow and spend our birthdays here.

In Green School:
- we have mild accommodation - a parent can participate in activities (not as an observer, but as a participant, friend of his/her child) up to 2 weeks to help the child trust Green School, its educators, activities and new colleagues;
- we pay attention to the development of multiple intelligence, focusing on developing attitudes, values and behaviors and not knowledge - we help children learn to be, to do, to think;
- we educate with love, empathy, firmness and gentleness, and our educators constantly learn this with Alexandra Ilies from Parenting through Love and with other trainers in dedicated projects;
- we do not have video cameras (it would be hard and expensive to mount in the 2700 square meters of garden on the hill and throughout the building), but we have confidence and openness, so any parent can stay, anytime, on a garden day, take the pulse of activity either to see your child with colleagues or simply to have a play day in nature;
- we have a menu designed by a nutritionist specifically for Green children (who have a different lifestyle than those in typical kindergartens) who spend a lot of time out. The menu is cooked by a local catering and is changed every day for one month, so the food has a great variety. In Green School, snacks are fruits, vegetables, nuts or seeds. The first and the second course of the lunch are not accompanied by bread nor followed by dessert. Three out of five days all children are served vegetarian menu, while the other two days they have the option to choose between vegetarian and omnivore. Menus do not contain artificial flavors or preservatives.
- we spend ~ 7 hours outdoors (in the long program), no matter the season or temperature. We only enter the house when we have to take care of us (storm, extreme frost, extremely dense fog). We played outside at -10 degrees (about this winter), but also at +30. We take care to dress appropriately, hydrate with water and teas, protect our skin with the right creams.
